4/30/20 G Suite Roundup: Updates That Matter Most

With the rise of remote work and learning, Google has rolled out key user experience enhancements focused entirely on Google Meet.

1. New 16-Participant Tiled Layout

  • What’s New: Google Meet web users can now view up to 16 participants simultaneously on screen in a 4×4 grid (up from the previous 4-person limit).

  • Dynamic Adjustments: The display automatically shifts active speakers to the front so you can track discussions easily.

2. High-Quality Screen & Tab Sharing

  • What’s New: Google has upgraded screen sharing clarity for remote presentations and added the ability to share a single Chrome tab instead of your entire desktop.

  • Why It Helps: Sharing a single tab provides higher visual quality and improved audio playback for embedded video or media.

  • Admin Setup: Enabled by default—no administrative action required.

3. Automatic Low-Light Video Adjustment

  • What’s New: AI-driven low-light mode automatically enhances camera visibility in dim or low-lighting environments.

  • Admin Setup: Active by default for all users.

Special Promotion Reminder

Google’s free access offer for Premium Google Meet features (including hosting meetings with up to 250 participants) remains extended through September 30, 2020.
