The Google Cloud development team has started the year off strong with helpful feature releases for Google Workspace. Below are three key updates we’ve selected for Google Voice, device management, and Meet. Read on to learn how you can bring your organization to the cutting edge of cloud collaboration!
Custom rules for incoming Google Voice calls
All Google Voice users (including users with free consumer accounts) can now spend less time answering calls they’d rather send to voicemail or to another phone number. Within your Google Voice settings, try out the following great new features:
- Forward calls from specific numbers to voicemail or to a linked phone number
- Screen calls from specific callers
- Set custom voicemail greetings for specific callers
- Apply forwarding rules for all contacts or specific contact groups
Live translated captions in Google Meet
Captions for Google Meet make meetings more accessible and effective. Google has now broken down the language barrier between many participants with the release of live translated captions from English to French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Eligible editions for this feature include Google Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus. Try this out during your next global meeting by clicking Settings > Captions > Translated captions.
Enterprise certificates
While configuring context-aware access rules for your organization, you can use newly-released enterprise certificates as an additional signal to determine whether devices are company-managed. This will help Workspace (G Suite) Admins more confidently and securely manage devices.
This feature is available for Admins using Google Workspace Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Standard, Education Plus, and Cloud Identity Premium.
