This week in G Suite, learn about updates that will impact the way you use Gmail, Sheets, and Hangouts! Admins in particular should tune in, as a migration deadline is approaching.
Updates to Multiple Inboxes
On February 20th, 2020 for Rapid release domains and March 5th, 2020 for Scheduled release domains, a host of new features will become available for G Suite users in Gmail. These include support for independent scrolling, a unified toolbar for multiple inboxes, and adjustable width for right-side configurations. Additionally, 3-pane inbox layouts will no longer be supported.
Sheets API v4 migration deadline extended
Previously, admins were informed that all Sheets application data would need to be migrated by March 3rd, 2020 to keep organizational applications functioning properly for the update to v4. However, this deadline has been extended to April 9th, 2020, to allow developers to have more time to complete this process.
Hangouts Meet on Safari
Effective immediately, all G Suite customers can use Hangouts Meet on Safari version 13 or higher, including screen sharing. No action is required to enable this functionality.
