As you may know, Google App Maker will be discontinued due to low usage. This shutdown will take place gradually, with the process concluding on January 21st, 2021. Below is the schedule for the phase-out.

Before April 15th, 2020: Apps will continue to function normally. No further development of the platform will take place, but it will be maintained so that users can expect their experience to remain consistent.

April 15th, 2020 – January 18th, 2021: Existing apps can be edited and deployed, but no new apps may be created.

January 19th, 2021 and beyond: Existing apps will no longer operate. All App Maker data stored in Cloud SQL will remain stored and accessible.

App Maker alternatives

Unfortunately, the unique source code used to build in App Maker means that projects cannot be directly migrated to a new platform. Click on the following alternatives to learn more.

AppSheet (Recommended)

For organizations that use App Maker to automate complex business processes, AppSheet is a suitable alternative.

App Engine

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) apps can be built and deployed in App Engine, storing all data in Cloud SQL.

Google Forms

If you use App Maker primarily to collect data, Google Forms is an excellent alternative, boasting comprehensive customizability and analytical tools.
