Google’s Workspace Security Advisor is a set of tools that give customers insights and actionable guidance directly in the Admin Console of your Workspace account. Think of the Security Advisor as a built-in assistant that simplifies understanding and applying critical settings to keep your account safe over time. The Security Advisor analyzes your Workspace environment and provides recommendations for configuring the most appropriate settings you have available to you on your current Workspace plan.
What settings are available, and why plan do you need?
Security Advisor is built into all Business and Enterprise Workspace plans with varying configurations available depending on your Workspace edition you have. The insights and recommendations you will receive from the Security Advisor vary across the areas of Account Protection, Data Protection, App Access Protection, and Phishing and Malware Protection.
For Workspace customers on Business editions, the Security Advisor analyzes and makes recommendations around how users can access their accounts, safe browsing in Gmail and Chrome, and which types of data they can share externally. Customers with Enterprise editions gain additional guidance from the Security Advisor regarding areas such as App Access Protection along with the ability to take action on threats with advanced security features like DLP, Security Center, Context Aware Access.
How do you get started?
All Workspace customers can access the Security Advisor section in the Admin Console by using the Menu to navigate to Security > Security Advisor. You can also visit this link to learn more about the specific recommendations and configurations available on different Workspace plans.
