Amid the concerns regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Google has announced an expansion of Hangouts Meet Premium features to all G Suite customers to accommodate users choosing to work and study remotely.
The following features (typically only available to Enterprise and Enterprise for Education customers) will be available to all G Suite and G Suite for Education customers beginning this week until July 1st, 2020:

Host larger meetings (up to 250 participants)

Livestreaming for up to 100K viewers

Record meetings, saving to Google Drive
NOTE: Admin action is required to enable these features. To turn these features ON, follow these steps:

In the Admin console homepage, navigate to Apps > G Suite > Settings for Google Hangouts.

Click Meet Settings.

Check the edit icon on the right side of the “Additional Services” box.

Scroll down and check the box that says “Let users place video and voice calls.”

In the same screen, click to activate other advanced settings for livestreaming and meeting recording.

Click Save.
